Education as a human development factor

Abstract

In this work, we try to systematize some bibliography referring to education as a factor of human development. It begins by understanding the concept of education, its relation with human development and finally the position of Angola in this ranking. As a result of this systematization, it was found that education has already been defined from the pedagogical and sociological point of view, but despite the difference of criteria, the authors agree when they place the man (subject, child or people) at the center of the activity and through it leads to its transformation, to the development of societies. On the other hand, literature generally recognizes the existence of an interrelationship between a country's levels of education and development. From this point of view, investment in education can lead to a higher level of development, but this, in turn, can generate increases in the educational level of the population in general. Finally Angola is in the countries with the lowest human development index in the world, occupying the 5th position of this classification. Should the Angolan government invest more seriously in education, health in order to raise the quality of life of Angolans and consequently better our position in this ranking.
